National Safety Council Defensive Driving Course (DDC-6)


We offer the National Safety Council Defensive Driving 6-hour classroom.  After completing the course, you will receive a National Safety Council DDC Certificate of Completion which, depending on your state, may make you eligible for point reduction or ticket dismissal.  Insurance companies in 34 states offer a reduction on insurance premiums to DDC graduates (check with your insurance carrier for availability).

2023 UCR Update
The start of the 2022 UCR registration period is delayed until further notice while the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) completes its rulemaking process. Once the final rulemaking is published, the registration period will be opened. The UCR Board of Directors will recommend that states delay enforcement for approximately three (3) months from that time. Please visit www.plan.ucr.gov for the latest updates.

“Don’t fail your DOT audit!”
You are subject to a civil penalty up to $ 10,000 for being out of compliance.”

Hours of Service:  In general, a CMV is a vehicle that is used as part of a business and is involved in interstate commerce and fits any of these descriptions:

  • Weighs 10,001 pounds or more
  • Has a gross vehicle weight rating or gross combination weight rating of 10,001 pounds or more
  • Is designed or used to transport 16 or more passengers (including the driver) not for compensation
  • Is designed or used to transport 9 or more passengers (including the driver) for compensation
  • Is transporting hazardous materials in quantity requiring placards


Marking of self-propelled Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMV) & Intermodal Equipment:

Every self-propelled CMV subject to subchapter B of this chapter must be marked as specified in paragraphs (b), (c), and (d) of this section, and each unit of intermodal equipment interchanged or offered for interchange to a motor carrier by an intermodal equipment provider subject to subchapter B of this chapter must be marked as specified in paragraph (g) of this section.


The International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA):  Is an agreement between states and Canadian Provinces to simplify the reporting of fuel taxes by inter-jurisdictional and interstate motor carriers.


  1. Have two axles and a gross vehicle weight or registered gross vehicle weight exceeding 26,000 pounds, or 11,797 kilograms; or
  2. Have three or more axles, regardless of weight; or
  3. Are used in combination when such combination exceeds a gross vehicle weight or registered gross vehicle weight of 26,000 pounds or 11,797 kilograms.
